Why Isn't My Google Review Showing Up? (Reasons + Fixes)

Few things are as frustrating as a happy customer leaving a review that never appears. Usually it's not gone for good — it's caught in one of a handful of common snags. Here's how to figure out which one, and what to do.

It's probably just a delay

Most reviews appear within an hour or two, but reviews from new or low-activity Google accounts can take 24–72 hours, and anything flagged for manual review can take 3–5 business days. If it's only been a few hours, give it a day before assuming the worst.

It was filtered as a policy violation

Google automatically filters reviews that look like spam, contain links or promotional content, come from someone with a conflict of interest (employees, competitors, vendors), or aren't about a genuine experience. Reviews that mention an incentive ("got a discount for this") can also get pulled — another reason never to trade discounts for reviews.

Your profile has a duplicate or verification issue

If your business has more than one Google Business Profile — common after a move or rebrand — customers may be reviewing an old or duplicate listing, so it never shows on your active one. An unverified or suspended profile can also stop reviews from displaying. Make sure you have one verified, active profile and merge or remove duplicates.

How to check if a review is actually live

Ask the reviewer to open your listing in an incognito window or on a different device while signed out. If the review shows there, it's live for everyone. If it only appears when they're signed into their own account, it's still processing or has been filtered.

Keep the ones you have working for you
