Review response guide

How to respond to a negative review for a Roofing Company

Roofing is high-ticket and trust-sensitive — homeowners fear leaks and storm-chasers, so calm, specific replies reassure the next caller.

A negative review is public, and it's read by far more people than the one who wrote it. Your reply isn't really for the upset customer — it's for the next hundred people deciding whether to trust you. Handle it well and a bad review can actually win you business.

Use four beats: acknowledge the specific problem, apologize without making excuses, say what you're doing about it, and invite them to continue offline. Keep it to a few sentences, stay warm, and never get defensive.

The review

New roof started leaking after the first big storm and they were slow to come back.

A reply that works

A new roof that leaks in the first storm is exactly what shouldn't happen, and slow follow-up made it worse — I'm sorry. Our work is warrantied and I want a crew back out fast. Please call and ask for me.

Tip: Invoke the warranty and a fast callback — leak fears are the #1 worry readers have about roofers.
